Another Great Year
Jason Teichman, CEO of Pond5, this year’s Keynote Speaker took on the theme ‘On The Move’, exploring the places where the industry is looking forward – how 2D is being challenged by 3D, VR, AI, 360 CGI and new image formats arising to confront the JPEG; and backward – the surge of interest in the editorial marketplace. What do you think about your industry and where it’s going? Can we control the changes, and who is leading the way? The DMLA Conference was the place to ask the questions and hear expert opinions on topics you want to know about.
This year’s location was the iconic Art Deco building that has drawn some of the most influential travellers in history. Nicknamed the ‘Grand Old Lady’, The New Yorker was the most technologically advanced of her day, a very appropriate venue for this most innovative industry’s Annual Conference.
We all have our own favourites so these are personal choices~ Scott Braut brought us the sensational Sensei – using AI and machine learning it is described as the magic behind the world’s best digital experiences. It was one of those jaw-dropping moments – WOW! ~ The Future of Food was a colourful panel discussion adroitedly moderated by Haystack’s Andrew Rowat. The two moving image sessions were a novelty for the industry conference and were very well attended and there were many new faces from that sector of the visual world.
